The Porsche 356 Interest Group Germany was founded in May 1979 by a group of Porsche 356 enthusiasts in the greater Cologne region. Since then it has acquired members from all over Germany. Today there are even members from countries outside of Germany such as Belgium, Netherlands and Columbia.

 

The goals and contents of the club were and are:

• Exchange of know how
• Help with technical questions
• Helping to acquire spare parts
• Advice in restauration and upkeep of the cars
• Contact and meetingplace
• Organisation of events of interrest

 

Family values are particularly important to the club members. In addition to regular club funktions and meetings, the members meet for instance each year for a sailing trip in Holland.

Throughout the clubs development the number of ready to drive model 356 Porsches built origianally from 1952 to 1965 has increased to 50 cars as of Feb. 1998
